Most people call any spot on their carpet a stain. But there is a difference between a spot and a stain. Most of the time spots are not stains. Most spots can easily be cleaned by a professional with a little elbow grease and proper chemistry. A stain, however, physically changes the composition of carpet and different stains require different measures to remove them. With red stains that come from things like sugary drinks, candies, or popcicles we use chemicals designed specifically to remove the red stain. It takes proper chemistry as well as know how to remove a red stain from carpet. But stains often come in many colors and from many unknown sources. When the source of a stain is a mystery, stains can sometimes take more than one treatment to remove. It is unusual that they will appear to have been removed only to rear their ugly heads after the carpet has dried, but that is always a possibility. On rare occasions, even with proper chemistry and know how, not all stains can always be completely removed. That is why we always recommend a high quality stain protector following deep carpet cleaning.
